The course hours are measured by the "Word Count Method." Not all students require 20 hours to complete the course and you are not required to stay "logged in" for a full 20 hours. You do need to pass an exam relevant to each section of the course (sections shown above). You can take those exams as many times as you need to pass. All answers are in the textbook.

This course is designed for existing tax preparers who are registered with the California Tax Education Council (CTEC). While anyone can take the course just to get the training provided, CTEC tax preparers are the intended audience, as this course will satisfy all your annual CE hours required for both CTEC and IRS. This course assumes that you already have a basic level of tax knowledge, such as completing a Basic Income Tax Course.
